KKUREI DASHBOARDa usage gauge to keep nearby
Codex & Claude Code usage at a glance.
Grey, the desktop cat, shows it beneath.
No more switching windows to see how much limit remains. Check usage in the dashboard, then keep it close with the gauges under Kkurei Free, the free desktop cat.
Free · no sign-up · works on Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10/11.
The dashboard and the cat are two programs that work together. Keep them in the same folder so the dashboard can start the cat. Kkurei is free; account access and subscription requirements follow each provider's rules.
Neither ZIP has gone through Apple or Microsoft signing review. If a warning appears when you open them, follow the install steps below. You can compare the SHA256 values below to confirm the file.
Mac
Double-click the ZIP. Check that the folder contains AI Usage Dashboard.app and Kkurei Free.app.
In Finder, move the folder as it is into Applications. Keep both apps in one folder; moving only one or running from inside the ZIP may keep the dashboard from finding the cat.
Right-click AI Usage Dashboard.app and choose Open. It uses an ad-hoc signature and is not Apple-notarized, so a developer warning may appear.
Once the dashboard opens, press the character button. If Kkurei Free shows a warning on first launch, open it the same way. After usage loads, you can show gauges under Grey.
In Terminal (Applications → Utilities), run the command below and compare the 64-character result with the value below. Adjust the path if you saved the ZIP elsewhere.
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/"Kkurei-AI-Dashboard-mac-v0.2.2.zip"Official Mac ZIP SHA256: 11433c0e2b949a9e331093905565717d52b79a911bb1c0bbd52fde2d76bfcb91
Windows
The dashboard needs Python 3.10 or later. Download it from python.org and turn on tcl/tk and IDLE in the optional features. Skip this if you already have it.
Extract the whole ZIP somewhere you will keep it, such as Documents. Kkurei Free.exe and Start Dashboard.cmd must stay together; do not move just one.
Double-click it to open the dashboard. On first run, follow the connection guide to sign in to Codex and Claude Code.
If a “Windows protected your PC” warning appears, choose More info → Run anyway; it appears because the program is not code-signed. You can also show or hide the cat with the Kkurei button in the dashboard.
In PowerShell, run the command below and compare the Hash with the value below.
Get-FileHash "$HOME\Downloads\Kkurei-AI-Dashboard-win-v0.2.2.zip" -Algorithm SHA256Official Windows ZIP SHA256: c9946212af36d80e8d1feda68d60b26c667581440aefba2f568c74ff9e270848
SHA256 identifies a file's contents. If the values differ, do not open the file; download it again from this page. A match means it is the file we published; it does not replace operating-system security review. If a warning says it will harm your computer, stop and contact us.
Follow the dashboard’s requirements in this order, starting with the provider you use. If already installed and signed in, check your status and refresh the dashboard.
Follow the official Codex CLI installation guide. CLI means the version you use in Terminal. Then run these commands in order:
codex login
codex login statusSign in with your ChatGPT account in the browser, then check the status with the second command. If the command is not found, finish installation and open a new Terminal window.
The dashboard uses your existing Codex CLI ChatGPT login. It does not represent every model limit on the ChatGPT website. Login command reference
Install the terminal version using the official Claude Code setup guide, then sign in with your Claude subscription:
claude auth login --claudeaiComplete browser authentication, then follow the dashboard’s Claude connection instructions. If Claude Code asks whether you trust a working folder, review and approve it yourself.
Signing in to the Claude desktop app may not sign you in to the terminal CLI. Even if the desktop app works, you may need to authenticate Claude Code separately.
If the command is unavailable, update Claude Code using its official instructions and try again.
Use the full dashboard to inspect limits, then glance at the small gauges while you work. Values in the illustration are examples; available limits depend on your account and provider.
Check remaining Codex and Claude Code usage and time until reset, including five-hour and weekly limits when available. In compact bar mode, double-click a bar to return to the full dashboard.
In settings, find 꾸레이 밑에 표시 (Show beneath Kkurei). Check the limits you want to see below Grey. Pick only the rows useful for your current work.
Grey alerts you as remaining usage reaches 20, 15, 10 and 5%. Gauges scale with the cat’s size so they remain readable. Alerts depend on when usage updates arrive.
Double-click Grey to open the menu: size, volume, dashboard, tools, play, drawing and automatic startup. Play opens kkurei.com web games, and drawing is free in Kkurei Free.
Values reflect the latest successful retrieval, not a continuous live reading. Check connection and update status when the app shows waiting, pending or error messages. This independently made app is not an official OpenAI or Anthropic app.
Run claude auth login --claudeai in Terminal again. A Claude desktop login may not authenticate the terminal version. Confirm your account in the browser, then refresh the dashboard. If needed, update Claude Code and check the dashboard’s connection instructions and working-folder trust. Some account or service conditions can prevent usage retrieval even after login.
Usage retrieval needs Python 3. Check python3 --version in Terminal. If missing, open Apple’s Xcode Command Line Tools installer with the command below and finish installation. You do not need the full Xcode app.
xcode-select --installCheck python3 --version again and restart the dashboard. Apple’s Command Line Tools guide
Keep the dashboard running and make sure Codex or Claude Code usage has been retrieved successfully at least once. Check a row under ‘꾸레이 밑에 표시’ (Show beneath Kkurei). The cat alone cannot retrieve fresh usage. Also check that both apps remain in the same folder.
Fully extract the ZIP and move the folder containing both apps to Applications. Compare SHA256, then try right-click → Open, or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway for that app. macOS 14 or later is required. If a damage warning persists or the checksum differs, stop and contact us.
Disable automatic startup in Grey’s menu and ‘Mac 로그인 시 자동 시작’ (Start at Mac login) in dashboard settings. If either still starts, check System Settings → General → Login Items (and Extensions) for remaining entries.
Turn off automatic startup for both apps, quit both, then move the installation folder from Applications to Trash. Optional usage data is in ~/Library/Application Support/UsageFloat (Finder → Go → Go to Folder). Other UsageFloat editions may share this folder; remove it only if you no longer need those records or editions. Removing these apps does not sign you out of Codex or Claude Code.
Compare the same limit (such as five-hour or weekly) and check whether each screen shows remaining or used percentage. The dashboard displays its last retrieved values. Check your internet connection, refresh, and look for pending or error indicators.
Yes — download the Windows ZIP above. The dashboard needs Python 3.10 or later, and it is still a preview, so adding several accounts is Mac-only for now. See the Windows steps in the install guide.
Usage values are used locally for the dashboard and gauges and are not sent to Kkurei servers. The apps do not have their own visit analytics. Authentication and usage checks communicate with the relevant AI provider.
Local data and gauge preferences are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/UsageFloat, including codex.json, claude.json, gauge-select.json and dashboard-path.txt. For support, send the error text and macOS version first, never passwords, authentication tokens or login files.
